Welcome to Cradiden Lodge in the Province of Surrey

The Lodge was formed in the February of 1948 and has today 31 members, we are recognised by the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE). The Lodge is number 6571 in the directory of UK Masonic Lodges and our ceremonies are in accordance with Emulation workings.

The Lodge meets four times a year at the Masonic Centre in Redhill Surrey on the first Saturday in February, the third Saturday in May and the first Saturdays in October and December.

The aims of the Lodge have remained Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth. To this end we support many Charities, Masonic as well as Non-Masonic, some of which are listed on the Charities Supported page of the website.

We also have a very active social calendar, which is listed on the Social events page.

At these events we have many Non-Masonic guests who not only have an enjoyable time but also help to raise monies for these charities.

What is Freemasonry?

First of all it is not a secret society, but Lodge meetings like many other private occasions are only open to members. Freemasonry is not a political organisation and has no affiliation to any political party. There are many publications from Masonic and Non-Masonic sources which can give great detail into the role Masonry plays in our society and a Booklet entitled “ Freemasonry an approach to Life” issued by The United Grand Lodge of England can be obtained from

Freemasonry in the Community

The Cradiden Lodge membership is drawn mainly from the Croydon area so it is only natural that we are great supporter’s of local charities and make regular donations to many local charities

Who can join

Membership is open to men of all faiths who are law-abiding, of good character and who acknowledge a belief in a supreme being. Freemasonry is a multi-racial and multi-cultural organisation. It has attracted men of goodwill from all sectors of the community into membership. Although each meeting is opened and closed with a prayer no discussion of religion or politics are permitted at meetings.
